FCEP PRESIDENT-ELECT NAMED FINALIST
FOR 2008 EXCELLENCE IN HEALTHCARE AWARD 
South Florida Business Journal Names Dr. Mylissa Graber Award Finalist

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Florida College of Emergency Physicians (FCEP) is pleased to announce that Mylissa Graber, MD, FACEP, the College's President-Elect, has been named one of four finalists for the South Florida Business Journal's 2008 Excellence in Healthcare Awards in the Physician of the Year category.

Dr. Graber, Emergency Room Medical Director at Good Samaritan Medical Center in West Palm Beach, is extremely active in all facets of the Florida College of Emergency Physicians. She serves on the FCEP Board of Directors, as well as the Governmental Affairs Committee, Medical Economics Committee and has been the editor of FCEP's membership magazine, EMpulse, since 2004.  She also has served in a leadership capacity for the Emergency Medicine Residents' Association of Florida (EMRAF) and is active in emergency medicine advocacy efforts in Tallahassee and Washington, D.C.

Before moving over to Good Samaritan Medical Center, Dr. Graber spent five years as an emergency physician at Coral Springs Medical Center. She received a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from Brandeis University, a medical degree from the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa and then completed her residency in emergency medicine at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. Dr. Graber chairs the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) Audit Committee and is a member of the ACEP Steering Committee and Finance Committee. She was honored with the FCEP William T. Haeck Member of the Year Award for 2006 and received the University of South Florida Fred Karl Community Service Award for outstanding volunteer service.

The Florida College of Emergency Physicians (FCEP) represents more than 1,200 emergency physicians in the state of Florida. FCEP members represent the health care safety net of Florida’s residents and visitors. More than seven million patients seek care annually in Florida emergency departments. FCEP was founded on Oct. 15, 1971 and is headquartered in Orlando.
