DR. ERNEST PAGE ELECTED FCEP PRESIDENT FCEP Announces New 2008-09 Officers,
Board Members
Ernest Page II, MD, FACEP
ORLANDO, Fla. – The Florida College of
Emergency Physicians (FCEP) is pleased to announce that
Ernest Page II, MD, FACEP, has been elected as FCEP’s
37th president. Dr. Page succeeds Larry Hobbs, MD,
FACEP. Dr. Page, a native Floridian who resides in
Windermere and practices at Florida Hospital Apopka,
practices with Maitland-based Florida Emergency Physicians,
where he serves on the board of directors and is one of the
managing partners. He is the director of Emergency Services
for Florida Hospital Apopka and is the immediate past chief
of staff. He also serves on the hospital foundation board of
directors.
“It is indeed an honor to serve as President of FCEP, one of
the most active and successful state chapters of the
American College of Emergency Physicians, and one of the
most active specialty societies in Florida,” said Dr. Page.
“I am blessed to have a wonderful Board and staff to work
with, as we continue to push for better access to care for
our emergency department patients. I look forward to working
hard on the issues that are truly important to the emergency
physicians in this state.”
Dr. Page is a member of the Florida Hospital By-laws
Committee and has served on many hospital committees. He has
served as secretary/treasurer, vice-president and
president-elect for FCEP and has served on the FCEP Board of
Directors since 2003. A member of the FCEP Governmental
Affairs Committee, Dr. Page has been very active in
political advocacy for the College. He received his Bachelor
of Science from Morehouse College in Georgia and earned his
Medical Degree at Tennessee’s Meharry Medical College, where
he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical
Society. He completed his residency at Emory University
School of Medicine in Georgia where he served as chief
resident.
Mylissa Graber, MD, FACEP, of Delray Beach, was
elected to the office of FCEP President-Elect, Amy R.
Conley, MD, FACEP, of Tampa was chosen as
Vice-President, and Vidor Friedman, MD, FACEP, of
Orlando was selected as Secretary/Treasurer. Four new
members of the FCEP Board of Directors were elected by the
membership at large. They are: Ashley Booth, MD,
FACEP, of Jacksonville; Gary Gillette, MD, FACEP, of
Gainesville; Steven Kailes, MD, FACEP, of Orange
Park; and Leila Posaw, MD, FACEP, of Miami. In
addition, Anil Sahijwani, MD, FACEP, of Land O’
Lakes, was re-elected for a second term.
The Florida College of Emergency Physicians (FCEP)
represents more than 1,200 emergency physicians in the state
of Florida. FCEP members represent the health care safety
net of Florida’s residents and visitors. More than seven
million patients seek care annually in Florida emergency
departments. FCEP was founded on Oct. 15, 1971 and is
headquartered in Orlando.
